Cochrane has once again been recognized as a tourist destination worthy of national attention. Expedia, a Canadian travel website, has recently posted a blog post naming Cochrane as one of the top small towns to visit for Canada Day. Towns as far as British Columbia and the Yukon were among the 25 towns chosen, and Cochrane is right up in the ranks with them! This is not the only instance of recognition in terms of Cochrane’s remarkable tourism opportunities, and once again we are brought to national attention for our uniqueness.

WONDERFULLY UNEXPECTED CELEBRATIONS
This new title is true to Cochrane’s festive spirits when it comes to national pride, and its ability to put on a good show no matter the size of the crowd. Canada Day has been a celebration that the town looks forward to each year, and with Canada’s 150th anniversary approaching, it is sure to be an event set to top the previous years of activities.

Canada Day is not the only celebration that brings people from all over the world to our small town. Ongoing activities such as the Polar Bear Habitat and the Polar Bear Express, as well as the one of a kind hunting and fishing opportunities, are just a few of the things that makes Cochrane so wonderfully unexpected. In the winter, tourists are able to come and enjoy our renowned Winter Carnival and tour the “number one snowmobiling trails in the world”. In the summer, guests are able to experience what living like a northerner is truly like as they participate in our Summerfest events.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Recognition continues to be awarded to Cochrane as the world comes to find how wonderful our town really is. Cochrane is the northern hub for adventure and exploration, and it is exciting to see people worldwide coming to experience our unique tourism opportunities!
