– Discuss Transportation and Tourism Initiatives
March 14, 2023 – Cochrane, Ontario: Associate Minister Stan Cho will be visiting Cochrane, Ontario on Tuesday March 14, 2023 to discuss upcoming transportation and tourism initiatives.
After making an appearance in Timmins, Ontario to join Mining Minister George Pirie for a local announcement, Minister Cho and his team will be travelling to Cochrane to engage in a local think tank on:
Minister Cho will also tour the Ontario Northland Coach House and the largest natural habitat for captive Polar Bears in the world, the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat.
Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis stated, “We’re excited to have Minister Cho join us in our community to continue our work on key initiatives like the Passenger Rail, the Polar Bear Express, and the truck bypass route. Minister Cho and the province understand the key strategic part rail plays in our community and our region, both historically and practically. Along with the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) they have been collaborative toward and committal to our long-term development. We couldn’t be more excited about establishing these building blocks together and about what the future holds.”
The Cochrane Tourism Association will be part of the think tank as discussion occurs around future tourism related to the Polar Bear Express and the Polar Bear Habitat.
