Notice of Adoption of the Town of Cochrane Growth Community Improvement Plan
Take Notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Cochrane passed By-law 2025-05 and 2025-06 on the 14th day of January 2025, under Sections 17 and 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.
The By-laws adopted by Council are as follows:

Purpose and Effect
The purpose and effect of the proposed Community Improvement Plan is to support and promote the growth of housing within the Settlement Area of the Town of Cochrane. The proposed Community Improvement Plan will provide a set of financial incentive programs to support development, redevelopment, and renovation of a range and mix of housing options including affordable housing, additional needs housing and additional residential units in the Town of Cochrane.
And take notice that an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal in respect to this Community Improvement Plan may be made by filing a notice of appeal with the Municipal Clerk either via the Ontario Land Tribunal e-file service (first-time users will need to register for a My Ontario Account) at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting Town of Cochrane as the Approval Authority or by mail 171 Fourth Avenue Cochrane, ON P0L 1C0, no later than 4:30pm on the 6th day of February 2025. The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day. The appeal fee can be paid online through e-file or by certified cheque/money order to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario. If you wish to appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal or request a fee reduction for an appeal, forms are available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website at https://olt.gov.on.ca/. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal the decision of the Town of Cochrane to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the plan was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
The complete By-laws are available for inspection at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, Cochrane, ON during regular business hours or can be mailed or emailed upon request.
