Assistance when it is needed most
The Town of Cochrane, with the assistance of the Ministry of Ontario, has a network of family and social assistance programs available for eligible residents who are in need. The services range from community living services, to low income housing, and emergency medical. Below is a list of local organizations who are here to help.
North East Association for Community Living
The Intégration Communautaire Cochrane Community Living Board maintains and operates three group homes, and provides services and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
The following programs are among the services they provided:

- Transitions program
- Respite support
- Children respite
- Supported independent living

Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board
The District of Cochrane Social Services Administration Board was established in February 1999 by provincial legislation and is responsible for the planning and delivery of Ontario Works, children’s services, emergency medical services, social and affordable housing, homelessness prevention programs, and community resource centres. They provides the delivery of provincial mandated services.
The District of Cochrane Social Services Administration Board covers the complete north, and has offices in Timmins, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, Cochrane, Kapuskasing, Hearst, and up the coast in Moosonee.
