TAKE NOTICE THAT a vacancy exists on the Town of Cochrane Council for one (1) (Councillor) and that Council has determined to fill this vacancy by appointment in accordance with Resolution No. 2025-118.

The term of this position is from the date of Council appointment to November 14, 2026.

A Special Council Meeting to appoint the successful candidate will be held on one of the following dates, depending on the number of interested candidates:

April 9, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Or

April 14, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Interested candidates must be available on both dates and will be notified of the selected date after the application process closes.

A candidate for municipal office must be a qualified municipal elector as set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and fulfill all of the following requirements:

• Eighteen (18) years of age of older; and
• A Canadian citizen; and
• A resident of the Town of Cochrane, or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such an owner or tenant; and
• Not prohibited from voting under any other Act or disqualified from holding municipal office; and

Prior to submitting an application, interested individuals should refer to the Municipal Act, 2001 and the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for further details relating to the required qualifications.

Any qualified individual may submit, in person with identification, an application form, a declaration of qualification form to the Clerk’s Office by 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 2025 to the undersigned:
