Job Summary

The position provides executive and administrative support to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the General Manager/Deputy CAO.  This role is also responsible for the creation of engaging content and maintaining the Town’s website and social media platforms, ensuring clear and effective communication with the public. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a passion for community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 50lbs (i.e., office supplies).
  • Knowledge of municipal operations, government structure, and community engagement is an asset.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an executive assistant or communications role, preferably in a municipal government setting.
