Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area Official Plan Review

The Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board and the Town of Cochrane are reviewing and updating of the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area Official Plan, which covers all lands within the Planning Area (see key map).
An Official Plan describes the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area’s policies on how the community should grow and how land in the Planning Area should be used. An Official Plan is prepared with input from the community to ensure it meets unique community needs.
This Official Plan Review and Update will review the existing land use planning policies to ensure they are aligned with local and provincial goals and objectives. It will also consider planning issues that impact the community.
TAKE NOTICE that on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board will hold a Special Meeting of Planning Board, pursuant to Section 26(3) of the Planning Act, to discuss the Official Plan Review and Update and discuss revisions that may be required to the Official Plan.
The meeting is to be held:
Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

All persons interested in participating in the public meeting are recommended to submit a written request to the Secretary-Treasurer, Elisabeth Dupuis, by email, fax or hand delivery (contact information below), no later than noon (12 p.m.) on Wednesday February 18, 2026.
Written and oral submissions will form part of the public meeting record, including the name and address of the commenters, as information collected under the Planning Act. The minutes, written submissions and a recording of the meeting will be posted on the Town’s website.
Written submissions can be made to the Secretary-Treasurer, Elisabeth Dupuis, by emailing elisabeth.dupuis@cochraneontario.com, or by post or by dropping off at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, Cochrane, ON, P0L 1C0. Please ensure that all written submissions include your name, address, and the application number of which you are submitting your comment to comment on.
