Invitation to Apply for Provincial Appointment: Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board

Interested individuals are invited to apply for membership on the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board representing the portion of the planning area without municipal organization. Appointments are made by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for a 4 year term.

Planning Board members are responsible for:

• Providing input and making recommendations concerning local land-use planning matters;
• Considering applications for the conveyance of land;
• Reviewing local land-use planning documents and making recommendations regarding amendments;
• Interpreting and applying provincial policy and legislation relating to local land-use planning; and
• Attending regular and special meetings of the Planning Board

The portion of the planning area without municipal organization consists of portions of the geographic townships of Brower, Hanna, Kennedy and Fournier.

To be eligible for appointment as a Planning Board member to represent the portion of the planning area without municipal organization, the candidate must complete an interview, be a Canadian citizen and be eligible to vote in an Ontario election. The candidate should be familiar with the portion of the planning area without municipal organization. Knowledge of Ontario’s land use planning system is an asset.

Invitation à présenter une demande de nomination provinciale: Conseil d’aménagement de Cochrane et de la banlieue

Les personnes intéressées sont invitées à présenter une demande de nomination à titre de membre du Conseil d’aménagement de Cochrane et de la banlieue représentant la partie de la zone d’aménagement qui n’est pas érigée en municipalité. Le ministre des Affaires municipales et du Logement nomme les membres, dont le mandat est de quatre ans.

Les membres du Conseil d’aménagement ont les responsabilités suivantes :

• présenter des commentaires et des recommandations sur des questions locales d’aménagement du territoire;
• examiner les demandes de transfert de biens-fonds;
• examiner les documents locaux d’aménagement du territoire et présenter des recommandations au sujet de leurs modifications;
• interpréter et appliquer les politiques et les lois provinciales en ce qui concerne l’aménagement du territoire local;
• assister aux réunions régulières et spéciales du Conseil d’aménagement.

La partie de la zone d’aménagement qui n’est pas érigée en municipalité comprend des parties des cantons géographiques suivant : Brower, Hanna, Kennedy et Fournier.

Pour être admissible à la nomination à titre de membre du Conseil d’aménagement représentant la partie de la zone d’aménagement qui n’est pas érigée en municipalité, la personne candidate doit passer une entrevue, avoir la citoyenneté canadienne et être admissible à voter dans une élection ontarienne. La personne candidate doit bien connaitre la partie de la zone d’aménagement qui n’est pas érigée en municipalité. La connaissance du système d’aménagement du territoire de l’Ontario est un atout.

Les personnes intéressées doivent présenter leur demande au moyen du site Web du Secrétariat des nominations, à www.ontario.ca/fr/page/nominations. Les demandes doivent être présentées au plus tard le 10 février 2023.
